Balance: ION method

balance the following equation by the ion method
Cu + HNO3 :rarrow: Cu2+ + NO + H2O(in acid)
i get confused with HNO3
i did all this things:
  • 2HNO3+2e- :rarrow: 2NO + H2O
  • NO3 :rarrow: NO +2e-, and erase de water and hydrogen without a reason
please help me thanks before hand
