Speed of stirrer (in rpm) during the synthesis of nanoparticles?
« on: December 07, 2009, 03:24:40 AM »
What is the proper speed of stirrer (in rpm) during the synthesis of nanoparticles from iron salts (Fe II and FeIII) in presence of alkali by coprecipitation method?

Hey

as i can't  send PM's  ( don't know why )   so i'm going to answer to your  PM's question  here.

if you are working  with  small volume ( 100ml)   the suitable  stirring speed  it's between  250~300 rpm  ( you can use a high speed i don't think it's a problem  but  you are going to get the   iron particle everywhere and  it's too hard to remove them)   , at  the end  if  there is  some agglomeration    of the iron particle   then you can use magnetic field  to remove them .
