Bromination of Acetanilide
« on: July 12, 2005, 05:38:00 PM »
In doing my lab, I am having trouble in determining what product I have formed...the lab manual says that I should have three possible products, but I can only come up with one (though I'm not positive that that is correct). Does the Bromine attack the double bonds or does it simply do a subsitution with the NHC=OCH3 group?

I think that perhaps the three products may correspond with the three levels of alpha carbonyl bromine(s).
