LIGANDS

Which of the following cannot act as a ligand? CH3OH, N(CH3), N2H4, C2H6...

I understand that the two nitrogen containing compounds can act as a ligand as in those compounds they will both have a lone pair which is the obvious condition of being a ligand. The other two im unsure about. Thanks.

You're on the right track, do either of the remaining two options lack lone pairs?

im certain the c2h6 doesnt but about the methanol im unsure. if it did it would be the oxygen yes? its just for revision im doing this so if i was in an exam i suppose i would go c2h6?

Yup, you're right. Oxygen has 2 lone pairs, while carbon has none.
