Why is CH3Cl a electrophile and CH3NH2 a nucleophile?
Isn't CH3Cl full of electrons? Why is it deficient? =/

Cl is an electrophile b/c the electronegative chlorine is pulling electron density away from the carbon. The CH
3
NH
2
is a nucleophile b/c of the lone pair of electrons on the nitrogen.
