vanadium cyanide complexes
« on: February 09, 2010, 03:25:33 PM »
vanadium pentoxide (in excess) dissolves slowly i KCN solution, giving dark yellow solution. Adding ethyl alcohol after few days results in yellow, crystalline precipitate. What is the formula of this compound? I've been searching in few books on inorganic chcemistry, but the information about vanadium and cyanide complexes was skimpy.... Is just vanadium a coordinating centre or maybe it's VO(3+) or VO2(+) ? I would be grateful for anything you know  ;)
