Average KE of Harmonic Oscillator
« on: March 21, 2010, 08:38:48 PM »
I understand that it it is a positive number?  How is this derived.

En=h(nu)(n+1/2)

So, Avg. E = [h(nu)(1/2) + h(nu)(3/2) + ... + h(nu)(n+1/1)] / n

IS there a way to simplify this into general terms?
