nylon rope

FUSING the strands of nylon rope, how? (Bee hive shaped bird houses constructed of 1'' rope, need to cut an opening, using hole saw; strands tear, pull and gume up the saws teeth.)

Used a fibreglass resin mix.  Hole cut through easily. Thanks
