Is there any resonance effect on SO4-?

yes, there is resonance in SO42-. When u draw the lewisdotstructure for SO4(2-), you'll get 2 double bonds, and thus you can move pi-electrons across the molecule. You can do this by making 6 resonance hybrids.

I wonder whether the resonance effect can undergo via d orbitals.
