Please help with this symbol..PENTENE?

Can anyone please help me with this  symbol?
I believe it may be a PENTENE. If it is, I am curious what the 4 dots could mean. I believe the image is  chemistry related, possibly Oil or fuel refinery related

Same symbol is commonly used to mark the point, so it is hard to tell if there is any connection.

Somehow I doubt zigzag on the left has any chemical meaning. Perhpas there is some contecxt that may suggest it, but as shown - it can be everything. Even Army of the Twelve Monkeys.

To me, they look like tramps codes, nothing chemical:



They use to mark houses this way. Somebody told me once that robbers also use some code alike...  ???
