Definition of Ki value for ligand/receptor association
« on: March 07, 2010, 05:15:09 PM »
Hello, I’m really really confused. I am studying ligand/receptors for my PhD and am trying to understand the Ki values of certain ligands. I have looked up websites but still can make no sense of it.

What does Ki mean??. Please explain in simple English as I do not have a chemistry background

Many thanks in advance  :)

 (Protein-Ligand-Inhibitor System)
Value depend on protein concentration [P], ligand concentration [L], dissociation constant Kd, and IC50
