Weight %, density problem

(1/1)

sarahjane:
a 44.0%w/w solution of sulfuric acid has a density of 1.343g/mL. what mass of sulphuric acid is there in 60mLs of this solution??? if anyone could help me with this id be sooooo grateful!!!

Mitch:
What do you mean by "w/w"?

AWK:
"w/w" probably means weight/weight (in analogy to V/V)
m=0.44 x60 x 1.343

AWK

sarahjane:
by w/w it means weight/weight

Donaldson Tan:
mass of 60ml solution
= 60 x 1.343
= 80.58g

mass of H2SO4 in solution
= 44.0/100 * 80.58
= 35.5g (3s.f.)
