try to shutdown the icp and pc then start pc before the icp
the order is important.
if you connect it directly try to use outside connector modem

YOur ICP unit has a connectivity problem with the interface software that is driving the instrument.  Here is my suggestion:
1. go to the rear of the instrument and make sure all the cabling is connected fast and securely to the various ports--probably some type of RS223 connection there?

1. turn the instrument on first--allow it go thru all of its diagnostic startup checks, cliks, beeps and humms.
2. next, turn on the computer, let it boot up, then initiate the software that drives the ICP.

*It is important to let the software go searching for the instrument--instead of letting the instrument search for the s/w**

3. the shutter positioning regulator is controlled by software and it prolly needs to be re-set: go to the startup menu and simply select "connect" for the shutter.

4. the unit should operate fine; if not call tech support--is your ICP still under warranty?
