Which column should I get?

Should I get a straight-tubed column with a notch at the bottom so I can just stuff it full of beads and copper turnings?  Or should I get a vigreux so I don't have to deal with stuffing?

Update: The Vigreux I'm looking at is 600mm and the straight-tubed column is 300mm.
