I read an article stating that in Japan they were able to change Fe to a form of Cu that was non magnetic but could not be turned into a copper ingot.  It was dissolving Fe in acid and was a yellow, brown powder that precipitated out of the acid solution.  Is anyone aware of this process?
What is the best process for dissolving Fe in an acid solution?
