Friction activated phosphorescent materials
« on: July 04, 2010, 02:05:57 AM »
I have looked around and came back empty. Is there such a material that will phosphoresce in response to friction (heat) instead of exposure to light?

Thank you for any feedback.

Try looking up Triboluminescence.

Hope that helps a little.

If you take simple table sugar and grind it in dark (very dark) room, you will see yellowish glow. It was a popular physics trick from my childhood.
