CALCULATING H/C C/0 RATIOS FOR VAN KREVELEN DIAGRAM
« on: September 01, 2010, 12:25:05 PM »
Hi,

Could someone please explain how to calculate O/C and H/C ratios in order to plot a van krevelen diagram?

Ultimate analysis results(%): C-59.95 H-6.27 N-4.08 O-1.4

I am investigating the potential of thermochemical liquefaction of Macroalgae (Seaweed) to produce bio-oil.

Thank you in advance.

Hello mirzaf,

When plotting a Van Drevelen diagram, you need to have many data points.

Here is a link to one of many types of diagrams: http://www.searchanddiscovery.net/documents/rice/images/fig04.htm

It looks like you have one data point, which is a good start.

I hope this helps,

Eugene
