Silica cement crumbling
« on: September 13, 2010, 07:48:25 AM »
so silica cement. ~120-140F, ~3500psi. put in a strong solution on calcium chloride salt vs magnesium chloride salt. why would the cement crumble in one salt solution more than the other. which solution would crumble the cement more?
in general, what solution would silica be more reactive with? as far as silica washing out of the cement? and what is the mechanism? if i want to wash silica out what would do a better job, without involving any hazardaous materials?
