carboxyl groups

If you have an carboxyl group on opposite end of a molecule results in what type of a compound?

Would it be?:  N-terminal residue, C-terminal residue- Polypeptides?

would it be diacids?

-COOH would be carboxylic acid

Carboxyl would refer to only -C=O

Should be called aldehyde

Mitch:
-C=O would be a carbonyl not a carboxyl
