Glue trap formula
« on: October 11, 2010, 02:19:02 PM »
Hi everyone.  I'm waging war with mice at my house.  They're in the attic, garage, barn, RV, car...  I live in the country and their population has just exploded.

I've tried several ways to trap them, and the one way that is by-and-far most effective is the glue traps.  But at $1 each, it's expensive.  I've tried several other methods (bait, snap-trap, 'noise' maker, shock-trap...), and either they don't catch any or there are other problems (ie dead mouse smell for weeks from the wall).  Glue traps are my solution of choice.

I'm hoping the formula for making the glue is relatively simple.  I've searched the web and cannot find one that works (I found one that was 50/50 corn syrup/water boiled, which didn't work).  I'm not looking for any proprietary formulas.  Just a plain non-drying strong adhesive that would catch mice.

Does anyone know how to make it that would be willing to share?
Many thanks in advance...
Tony

The glue is a mixture of polymer with different degrees of polymerization. As I know the glue is mostly polybutene.
