I would like to create an unscented version of "Febreze" using Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin as the active ingredient.  Currently there are no companies offering a true scent-free version of this product.  I suspect this chemical has an odor that would not be acceptable to consumers; is that the case?

I need some help with the following:

1. How much HPßCD should be mixed with water?
2. What is the best place to purchase non-pharmaceutical grade HPßCD?

I would also like to create a slow release mister for direct injection into my central air system.  Would there be a health hazard to having low concentrations of the chemical in the house at all times?

No, that is not the case. HPBCD is odorless as a solid and in solution.

unless I'm doing the calculations wrong it's not particularly cost effective as opposed to buying scent free febreze.
Also any notion of other ingredients such as surfactants or alcohol which is definitely in that formulation?
