Equilibrium
« on: October 25, 2010, 07:40:16 PM »
I am having trouble with the attached question. I see that from the value of Keq
that the concentration of products is favored. I have tried many ways but they all don't make sense  ???

The correct answer is A. Can you help me understand why it is A?

Thanks!

If you compared the reaction quotient and the Keq, you can see that the products are favored.

Since the products are favored will the concentration of C2H2 increase or decrease?

What does reaching an equilibrium mean in terms of reaction rates?

[C2H2] increases and forward rate decreases

Le chatalier's principle and value of keq.
will shift toward left.
