Column building compatibility question
« on: November 29, 2010, 10:47:28 AM »
Hi..  I'm building a chromatography column and plan to use Pet' Ether and Ethyl Acetate as eluents.  The column is being constructed from a 1m length of glass tube  x 100mm dia'.  I've been looking at compatibility charts for suitable substances to make the end caps from that are compatible with both eluents whilst offering good sealing properties and apart from PTFE, I am unable to find anything.

Anybody have any alternatives I might not have thought of?
