Well, what do you think? What definitions of chiral centres do you know?

keep in mind that chiral means all 4 groups C should be different ... and for ring you can use that ring on two sides of atom is identical or not!!!

In my knowlege , chiral centre must have to bond with four different groups , or does not have plane of symmetry .

Sorry , do you mean that the most near  group to the chiral carbon at the ring ??
would you mind to explain more ??

yes u r right,

oops my mistake ... i wanted to write:

keep in mind that chiral means all 4 groups of C should be different.

just apply this to find if first molecule is chiral or not

consider 2 C marked * in my pic ... (chiral 1)

Group A & B are different

now can you see the difference in the two sides of ring in compound A and B??

compound A is not chiral while B is.

Can you understand why?

Now what do you think of C* in Pic2 ...(chiral 2) ...???

i think it is not chiral , as the X  is shared from two sides , they are the same....
