I did read somewhere that exposing glass bottles to ultraviolet light will change them from clear to blue or purple.  It was a warning about bottles being sold on eBay that were artificially colored this way and being misrepresented to collectors. Could prolong exposure to intense ultraviolet light change a clear drink glass to the color you want? It might be worth researching.

In the glassblowing business,we some time have to stain glass an amber color.
The Amber stain is painted on the glassware, then put in a kiln.It is then cooked at 1050 degrees F.
