potassium phthalimide reaction with carboxylic acid

i am doing gabriel phthalimide syntheis by using potassium phthalimide but my compound have carboxylic group also
will it affect my synthesis? pls. explain

Well, what do you think will happen if you mix acetic acid and potassium pthalimide?
