Gmail - FAKE SPACE COUNTING!!

You know how in gmail there's a counter that keeps on going up with amount of storage space... Well, according to my calculations, this is pretty much useless, and just serves as a "WOW" thing for Google.

My calculations are as follows:

Every year gmail users get 2 Mb more storage space.
This translates to 1 Gb being added every 500 years!

Seriously Google?

I have like 700 emails with plenty of attachments and I'm at like 2% full.  How much space do you need?

Today they upped it with 1 Mb. It seems like they just have the counter there as a kind of 'decoration'..

It would actually take 512 years as there are 1024 MB in a GB.

mine says "You are currently using 185 MB (2%) of your 7411 MB"

im not sure what it started at but about 7GB is a large amount of space for email and IMO is very generous of them
hell i should start a account and use it for backup storage, just email pics and other important things to myself and i have a free 7GB online storage

I started at 1GB in 2004. I'm now up to more than 7GB.

Absolutely. I had 3 at one point. Right now I have 2; one "professional" and one, um, normal.
