Stoichiometry Problems, *Help me*!!
« on: March 06, 2011, 07:49:25 PM »
I've Tried everything! and i just cant get to any of the answer choices! If someone could please help me with this!

H2 (g) is made when 8.5 grams of Li is placed in water.  The reaction also creates Lithium Hydroxide.  Li + H2O --> LiOH + H2    How much H2 (g) is made?  (the (g) means gas!)

   A   2.4 g H2
   B   27 L H2
   C   2.42 L H2
   D   27.2 g H2

A student uses 16.3 grams of KOH to neutralize an HCl.  The student realized that this was plenty of KOH and was curious how much KCl was made in the process.  Determine how much KCl was made, and find out which was the limiting reactant if 12.7 grams of HCl was also used.  (Hint: only use the 12.7 grams of HCl to find the limiting reactant, not the amount of KCl produced!)  KOH + HCl --> KCl + H2O

   A   22 g KCl
B   .3 mol KOH, .4 mol HCl, KOH is the limiting reactant
   C   6.52 g KCl
   D   21.5 g KCl
E   .291 mol KOH, .352 mol HCl, KOH is the limiting reactant
F   .203 mol KOH, .432 mol HCl, KOH is the limiting reactant

For the first one, try to balance the equation first.
