Endothermic as well as exothermic reaction
« on: March 16, 2011, 06:56:26 AM »
Say there is a reaction A + B -> C + D. At high temperature, the reactants absorb energy (endothermic) and gets converted to the products. Is there any reaction such that the products thus formed gets converted to the reactants again but at a different temperature (may be lower than the initial one) followed by the release of energy.

So i need a chemical reaction that works as follows..

1. Reactants A and B absorb energy at high temperature and gets stored in the form of potential energy in products C and D.

2. By changing the physical conditions such as temperature, pressure or introduction of a catalyst, the reaction is reversed and the products C and D converts back to reactants A and B followed by the release of energy.

Thanks in advance..
