looking for uncopyrighted intro biology textbooks
« on: December 18, 2010, 01:39:40 AM »
I have asked this question regarding chemistry texts and there is a wealth of good sites,

so I am wondering if there are also intro biology books available on the web.

Texts needed would be the equivalent of an intro college textbook.

This would be used for a non-profit and unpaid volunteer instructional project.

any suggestions appreciated.

I hope you find some, as I also have been looking for this sort of stuff -- but since so much is being discovered and changing in biology - it is going to be hard to find a public domain biology book that is not out-dated.

And it isn't to likely that uncopyrighted materials are going to exist that are useful and recent...

Good luck though! Have you found any so far? If so - please share.
