DPP production solvent-free
« on: March 26, 2011, 06:25:28 AM »
Hi everybody,

pls can somebody help me with this struggle... Right now, I'm preparing DPP pigment, pigment red 254 and 255. Base material is p-chlorobenzonitrile (for P.R.254) benzonitrile for P.R. 255, diisopropyle succinate and natrium (pottasium)  tert-amylalkoholate . And I'm doing it without solvents, just in melting. And 254 works fine. When I'm doing hydrolysis, final pigment is red, but when I'm doing final hydrolysis for P.R.255 with a first drop of acid, whole intermediate turns into blue. Any idea why? I'm really stuck here.
