Sebacic Acid
« on: April 03, 2011, 05:52:32 AM »
Does anybody by any chance have or know where I can get an analytical method for Sebacic acid please?... Assay, moisture, ID tests, Ash, M.P., etc...

I simply cannot find any literature on it regarding analysis.

On another topic, does anybody have any tips on how to clean silica glass crucibles after use?. The product I was testing was ignited at 900 celcius and the residue left are crystals which solidify and stick to the crucible upon cooling. I have tried using 37% HCl at 50 celcius which takes away a little of the residue, and, also igniting the crucible at 1000 celcius which takes a little away too but does not completely clean the crucible.

Any tips please?

Thanks.

For cleaning, try nitric acid, and if need to, in boiling nitric acid.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
