(HELP) class project
« on: May 05, 2011, 09:46:15 PM »
This is my project and i want to know what plastic is most suitable to withstand crude oil.
thanks.

Design a bracket that will support two .3125" dia. vertical copper conductors. The conductors are mounted on the inside of the tank that stores crude oil and they are energized to 7 watts to keep the crude oil warm enough to flow. The conductors must be at least 2" apart from each other and any other metal surface. The conductors are supported 24" vertically and the brackets are installed 36" horizontally apart around the inside of the tank and can not be held by the top of bottom. The tank is 335' in dia, 51 feet high with a capacity of 750,000 barrels. (1 barrel = 31.5 gallons)

i would like to know what plastics and mettels are least to be effected by the crude oil.

thanks again for your help.  :) ;) :D
