Quick Q on succinimide solubility

(1/2) > >>

sundberg:
Just a quick one: Is succinimide soluble in acetic acid? Could not find any solubility data anywhere, and don't have the possibility to do a practical test right now. Thanks!

GSR:
Solubility data:
Soluble: Acetone, THF, DMF,DMSO, MeCN

Slightly soluble: Water, AcOH
Insoluble: Et2O, hexane, CCl4

hope this is useful

sundberg:
It is! Thanks very much.
May I ask where you found it?
Textbook, or website?

I can't seem to find any useful solubility databases on-line. Most only the solubility in water, maybe some simple alcohols and some organic solvent like toluene.

GSR:
just a simple search in  the link is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-Bromosuccinimide

sundberg:
Aha, ok. Didn't know that Wikipedia had such information! Great!

But that data is for NBS, not succinmide.
I need it for simple succinimide/2,5-pyrrolidinedione (CAS#: 123-56-8), not the halogenated derivates.
