A question about Gibbs free energy
« on: August 31, 2011, 09:10:45 AM »
Which compound will become more stable with respect to its elements if the temperature is raised?
NO(g)
CuO(s)
PCl5(g)
SO2(g)
NH3(g)

The answer are NO(g) and SO2(g).
I should predict their entropy, right? But PCl5's entropy is the biggest.
Why are the answer NO(g) and SO2(g)?

What is the general trend for hydrates vs anhydrates (crystals) with respect to solubility. I've checked two references that gave me different answers. Any suggestions?
