Specific Heat/Joules/ and such, need help.

1. How much heat is needed to raise the temperature of 5.58 kilograms of iron from 20C to 1000C ? Specific heat of iron is 450,000 j/kg.
 

I used the formula (mass x change in temp x specific heat).

5.58 x 980 x 450,00 and got 2460780000.

^^ Would that be the correct equation to solve this problem? Im also suppose to put the answer in 3 significant digits.

Heres another:

A sample of H2O with a mass of 46.0 grams has a temperature of -58 C. How many Joules of energy are necessary to heat steam from 100 C to 114 C if the specific steam is 2.01 J/g C?

Is this one the same as before? I mean do I use (mass x change in temp x specific STEAM [in this case]). What do I do with that - 58 C?? Im confused.  ???  :-\

Looks like it is added just to confuse you. Seems the target was acquired :)
