Advice on how to remove Hydranal Composite (TM) stains
« on: September 28, 2011, 11:35:08 AM »
First post on the forums so please be kind.

A service engineer came round to service my Orion turbo Karl-Fischer titrator and managed to drip hydranal composite on my lab floor.  >:(

Now I have an ugly yellow stain that is pretty stuborn. Any of you wonderful analytical chemists dealt with this problem before or have any bright ideas?

The stain is likely I2. Try sodium thiosulfate/H2O  solution to discolour the stain. Wash it away with large amount of water.
