Oxidation number
« on: October 06, 2005, 10:36:57 PM »
hello all, in this formula:
K2Cr2O7

What is the oxidation number of chromium?

I got +6 somehow:

2 + 2Cr - 14 = 0
2Cr - 12 = 0
2Cr = 12
Cr = +6

Is that correct?
