Purity testing Of Sodium Perborate Monohydrate
« on: October 20, 2011, 04:39:39 PM »
Hi,
Been reading this forum for a while , now it is time for me to post and hopefully get some feedback.
I  need to assay Sodium perborate monohydrate for its purity  and cant seem to find any methods. USP doesn't have any methods , googling brings up  titration for the test of Hydrogen Peroxide which is not what i want.

Can someone help me with this ?

Thanks in advance.

If the purity is high determining amount of perborate is not the best way of dealing with the problem. If possible it would be better to determine amount of impurities.

That being said, perhaps you can check how much hydrogen peroxide is produced during hydrolysis?
