Removing Iodine
« on: November 09, 2011, 03:03:33 AM »
I did a reaction involving sodium periodate and i left my reaction vessel there for a long time and now its cap and the magnetic stirrer that I left it with are stained yellowish brown. I suspect it's iodine, does anyone has any idea how to remove them?

If iodine, try some reducing agent - like thiosulfate bath.
