vibrational spectroscopy
« on: December 31, 2011, 09:39:20 AM »
HCl has a B value of 10.593 cm-1 and a centrifugal distortion constant D of 5.3*10-4 cm 1. Estimate the force constant for the HCl bond. The measured value for W.osc for HCl is 2990 cm 1, explain the difference between the calculated and observed value.

I know the force constant has something to do with hooks law. and simple harmonic motion :/
Any help will be appriciated. thanks :)
