Can anyone please draw these wavefunctions with respetive signs out? As I read many books, there are at least two or more ways to draw the wavefunctions of MO, for instance, either simply mix s AO and p AO together or treat s-p mixing in heteronuclear diatomic molecule like homonuclear ones ,i.e. sharing same MO spatial representation . I propose the latter one is more appropriate to describe s-p mixing because s-p mixing is related to MO transformation rather than AO. In addition, I also want to know if the 3 sigma MO is in between 2p of C and 2p of O in term of energy level or it is slightly lower than that of O.Thanks for clarifying any misconception(s).
