Remove water from polyols
« on: February 03, 2012, 03:09:57 AM »
Dear all:

Can anyone suggest how to remove water from reagents, specifically polyols, in the industry? Molecular sieves or vacuum drying should work well for lab scale, but seems impossible for industry scale, like hundred kilograms.
Thank you for your kind *delete me*

We dry multi tonne batches of polyol prior reacting them with isocyanates by heating to ~105˚C and pulling vacuum to ~100mbar on the reactor for a few hours.
