I'm not exactly sure how you determine either or these, I thought I had but alas I do not. We are told to determine how many H NMR peaks could theoretically be observed for specific atoms, and how many proton environments are present in various compounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated, here are 2 examples of the kind of problems we are working on I had to attach a file because the structures are too difficult to draw out and they wouldn't copy over!
