Hello i sometimes find that i have left out little bits on some of my post's or want to add some more info to them at a latter date.
is there any way to edit the post? i have looked but i just cant seem to see it i may be a little blind or it may not be there. thanks

There is, but only up to about 30 minutes after posting (unless you're an admin). We have had issues in the past with people posting questions, then blanking their original posts once help / answers have been received, which makes a mockery of any later text.

If you find you have missed information out, by all means follow-up on the original thread.

and how would one modifying there post. where would the button be located?

OK dumb question now i see it :) in top right.
also dose this include with starting posts.
