NEED help with asprin titration

hi
i have to write a report about aspirin titration, ive already finished the prac, but theres one thing i dont understand , i had to dissolve the asprrin tablet in methylated spirit, why methylated spirit? what does it do?  than i had to add water

can somebody please help me asap , i need it desperately

Hard to answer not seeing whole procedure. Sometimes you act this way to speed up the dissolution, but if memory serves me well aspirin dissolves easily enough.

well i had to titrate it with 0.1 M NaOH if that helps?
