how do you like new arrows?

:delta:  :rarrow:  :larrow:  ::equil::

And the old ones, for comparison:

Better, except that this:

::equil::

Is a resonance arrow, not an equilibrium arrow. I would vote for having the double headed arrow in addition to the old equilibrium arrow.

Your post looks a little nonsensical now, but that's because I modified the picture again.

Not that I am convinced it matters, are you sure it is a generally accepted convention?

Yeah it is a standard convention for organic chemistry at least.

E.g. http://masterorganicchemistry.com/2011/02/09/the-8-types-of-arrows-in-organic-chemistry-explained/

I'm liking the arrows now though, very sexy.

I liked them before adding ::equil::, now the heads don't look proportional to me (even if they are identical, classical optical illusion).

Still better than the previous version, sorry Mitch :P

I like the idea of the arrows showing which side of the reaction is favored, could be I will add them.

Yes, I would like those too.  Except ... I don't know how often that comes up for reactions on these boards.  Still, when it does come up, it would be really useful.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

There have been quite a few occasions where it would have been useful for me. It's not essential, you can just type "equilibrium position lies to the LHS/RHS", but if it's easy to do they'd be nice to have.

I like them.

I think :: equil :: (::equil::) is now the same as : resonance : (:resonance:) though...

That's what I thought from the very beginning, that's why I had my doubt if having them both makes sense.

I think we should have :: equil :: similar to the old equilibrium arrow as well as the new lequil/requil arrows, and have a double-headed arrow for : resonance :.

Try to refresh, probably you are seeing something different from what I am seeing. They are different.

I would vote for having the double headed arrow in addition to the old equilibrium arrow.

I add to this one. The double arrow ##\rightleftarrows## is a standard in chemical kinetics for non-equilibrium reversible reactions.

Nice work Borek. Personally I would prefer a larger difference between the long and short harpon in :lequil: and :requil: for emphasizing the displaced equilibriums, but nice.

Perhaps I will revisit them one day. I know from experience that designing small items that look OK and are aesthetically consistent (that is, it is obvious they are belong to the same set) is often problematic.
