Infrared spectroscopy - C-F and C-C bonds
« on: June 15, 2012, 12:58:52 PM »
Why are the absorbance ranges for C-C and C-F not included in data sheets? What is it about these bonds that is not useful in the identification of compounds?

Are they not in the "fingerprint region" and thus obscured by lots of other peaks? Apart from that I seem to remember that the peaks are rather weak.
