CHEM 1151 Temp & Pressure question

Hi.  I am stuck on a question:

In 1783, Jacques Charles launched his first balloon filled with hydrogen gas, which he chose because it was lighter than air.  The balloon has a volume of 31000 L at STP.

If the balloon reached an altitude of 1000m, where the pressure was 658 mmHg and the temperature was -8°C, what was the volume, in liters, of the balloon at these conditions?



How do I solve this?  Is the altitude of 1000m even a factor???

Try to ignore that, for now, and just pick the problem apart as it is given to you.  Can you relate volume and STP?  What does STP mean?  What final values, does the problem give you, that are different from STP?
