Finding Molality
« on: July 04, 2012, 02:48:58 PM »
A solution of salt(molar mass 90g mol^-1) in water has a density of 1.29 g/mL. The concentration of the salt is 35% by mass.

I need to calculate the molality.

So m = mol solute/ kg solvent

Do I start by doing:

35 g * 1 mol/ 90g = .39 mol   ??

Start with 1L of the solution.
